Governance, Risk & Compliance (IST)

We’re a dedicated team within the IT Department at LUMS, focused on ensuring responsible data governance and institutional risk management.

The Governance, Risk & Compliance office is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of the university’s data to the authorized stakeholders while keeping its availability, integrity, and security intact, but its scope is limited to data available in the system.

We focus on:

• The governance of data is based on a defined set of procedures and plans to execute
• Providing a resolution regarding data sharing conflicts between different departments
• Comprehensive risk management for the assessment, mitigation, and treatment/prevention of risks
• Development and updating of IST policies
• Coordination with internal and external auditors for the resolution of their audit observations
